Omar Farouq Lutfy received the Ph.D. degree in control and automation engineering at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia in 2011. He received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering and the M.Sc. degree in mechatronics engineering at the Control and Systems Engineering Department, University of Technology, Iraq in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He finished his postdoctoral research at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2015. He is currently working as an assistant professor at the Control and Systems Engineering Department, University of Technology, Iraq. He is the author and co-author of more than thirty papers published in international journals and conferences. His research interests include intelligent control, artificial intelligence algorithms, and system identification techniques.
