Dr. Salam J. Hilo is an Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering at the University of Technology–Iraq. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and a B.Sc. from the University of Technology–Iraq. Dr. Hilo is an active researcher and educator with a strong publication record in Scopus and Clarivate-indexed journals, focusing on precast systems, composite structures, lightweight and environmentally friendly buildings, and innovative structural systems. His work integrates experimental, numerical, and analytical methods to advance structural performance and sustainability. Dr. Hilo currently serves as the Head of the Central Library at the University of Technology–Iraq, where he oversees the development of academic resources, digital services, and knowledge management strategies to support research and education across the university. He also teaches Advance Reinforced Concrete Design, Static Mechanic, Dynamic Mechanic, Mathematics I,II&III, and Ethics and leadership in Structural Engineering, He supervises postgraduate & undergraduate thesis & projects, and leads academic training initiatives in peer review and scientific publishing. With international experience across Asia and Europe, he regularly serves as a reviewer for high-impact journals such as Engineering Structures and the Journal of Building Engineering, etc.
